Erin Thompson was born and raised in Richmond, BC. She moved to Calgary in 1995 and attended Mount Royal College. She began her career with Associate Veterinary Clinics in June of 2007, after working for 4 years at other Veterinary practices in Calgary.
As clinic manager, she finds her work very rewarding and is passionate about helping to take the practice to new heights in both preventive health and owner awareness. Erin's interests in animal care not only lie in the management areas but also pet health and nutrition. She has completed the Hill's Nutritional Advocate Program as well as the Medi-cal/Royal Canin Senior and Dental Counselor programs.
Erin comes to us with various management and customer service experience, with over 8 years experience in the Veterinary industry. She is currently working on her CVPM designation for Practice Management. She also runs her own pet-sitting business where she offers in-home pet care and house-sitting. She enjoys the opportunities to advance her knowledge by attending continuing education courses on areas of pet health and management as well as taking on new projects within the hospital.
Currently, Erin has 2 dogs, “Eddie Spaghetti” and “Mr. Wilson”. Eddie is a 5 year old Jack Russell Poodle cross and Wilson is a 6 year old Border Terrier Cross. They keep her very busy as they are both full of energy! Erin has been a foster home for ARF rescue puppies as well, which was very fun and rewarding!
When Erin is not working she is always trying to plan her next adventure, as traveling is a huge passion to her. She has been to 32 different countries throughout North America, Europe, UK, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.
