Tina was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. During her last year of high school, she participated in a student exchange program and moved to Yughno-Sakhalinsk, Russia. Upon her return home to Canada, she went on to study science at the University of Alberta. In December of 2007, Tina finished her BSc in Biological Sciences with a minor in Russian Languages and Literature. Tina spent her summers working in a veterinary hospital in 2006 and 2007. Since graduating university, she has been a full-time employee at Shawnessy South Pet Hospital.

Outside of work, Tina cares for her chinchilla zoo (Xena, Zorro, Willow and Juja), her lovebirds (Twink and Schnookums) and her kitty (Zola). She also enjoys volunteering with various clubs, SCUBA diving, reading and being outdoors.
